Chanel’s first high jewellery collection for the year – Plume de Chanel

Feathers may be trending on the runways right now, but as always, Coco Chanel was ahead of her time when she presented her very first creation to the press in 1910: A hat adorned with a statement, outsized fluffy white feather.

Two decades later in 1932, the feather was interpreted as a fully articulated brooch in her first and only high jewellery collection, Bijoux de Diamants.
